Botox injections or treatments are done to correct facial wrinkles with longer lasting results than other substances, especially with wrinkles in the forehead, between the eyebrows and crows feet. By injecting Botox, a botulism toxin, into the muscles responsible for wrinkling, a temporary paralysis of the muscles occurs. Facial wrinkles are eliminated for up to six months.
