Forehead / Brow Lift:
LOOKING RESTED AND
YOUNGER
A brow lift is performed with the aid of
multiple small incisions and an endoscope. After the forehead
and brow are lifted, excess skin is removed and or tightened. Some bandages are normally applied and
the patient
returns home the day of the surgery.
THE TEMPORAL BROWLIFT
The temporal browlift is often done in
combination with
the upper eyelid blepharoplasty. This procedure helps
lift the upper outer part of the eyebrow, while concealing
the incisions in the hairline. This can be done in the office
setting along with the upper eyelid lift procedure under local anesthesia.
ENDOSCOPIC BROWLIFT
The purpose of the endoscopic browlift is to reduce
the furrowing of the brow, hooding of the eyelids and crowsfeet.
This procedure is often reserved for more mature and hyperactive
foreheads. Some bandages are normally applied and the patient
often returns home the day of the surgery if no other procedures
are performed at the same time.
THE SURGERY
The endoscopic browlift surgery is performed at an outpatient
surgical center and is done under general anesthesia by
a Board Certified anesthesiologist. The procedure takes 1.5
hours and the first 5 days of recovery requires reduced activity.
During the first few days, post operative discomfort is controlled with
oral pain medications. Bruising and swelling subsides in 7 to
10 days and the patient can then return to work and social
situations.
